BABCP 52nd Annual Conference & Workshops, 23-26th July, University of Manchester

Asnea Tariq, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow from the University of Reading, presented “Project Soothe” at the BABCP 52nd Annual Conference and Workshops in Manchester. The presentation focused on using imagery-based psychotherapeutic approaches, particularly Compassion-focused therapy, which helps activate the ‘soothe’ affective system. Launched in 2015, Project Soothe is a Citizen Science Project that has gathered over 800 soothing photographs from around the world featuring landscapes, water features, flowers, plants, and animals.
